We are pleased to announce the opening for an INDOPACOM Wargame Planner who will join our team in Oahu, HI and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, and space control marketspaces.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
You’ll be providing subject matter expertise and operational support in the areas of wargaming, wargaming analysis, joint simulations, scenario, and issue identification/ coordination/ resolution. Formal Joint Planning Group (JPG) activities include: (1) Coordination with USINDOPACOM HQs stakeholders to build and maintain the JPG membership; (2) Coordination across Components and other organizations to gain regional situational awareness for wargaming activities and invited guests to JPG meeting; (3) Schedule JPG meetings, build agenda, briefing products, and facilitation of JPG meetings; (4) Attend bi-weekly Defense Wargaming Alignment Group (DWAG) meetings, representing USINDOPACOM HQs interests; (5) Maintain USINDOPACOM HQs JPG Website; (6) Review DoD Wargaming Repository weekly, enter and update all USINDOPACOM activities, and generate regular reports providing analysis, insight, and key activities of interest to USINDOPACOM HQs leadership; and (7) Attend HQs JPG meetings and provide updates concerning the Wargaming JPG.Execution Tasks and Roles:
Builds JPG products, SOPs, Wargame Products, and establishes timelines and milestones for assigned wargame events and activities. Produces other materials, presentations, and documents as required/assigned.Performs as Wargame Planner and participates in wargames as INDOPACOM SME. As assigned, participates in joint exercises in support of the Simulation Organization / Tech Control within the Exercise Control Group Operations.Sets up, coordinates, plans, and executes all aspects for INDOPACOM Wargame JPG and other wargame events and activities, as assigned.Coordinates and establishes schedules, milestones, and resources in support of the Wargaming JPG and other assigned wargames and associated events and activities.Regularly engages DWAG members, HQs, Components, and other organization’s stakeholders to facilitate Wargame JPG activities and interests; USINDOPACOM sponsored wargames, and events that USINDOPACOM HQs is asked to participate in.Produces multiple reports and summaries to capture analysis, insights, and other areas relevant to the wargame JPG and other wargames and associated events and activities.Provides lessons learned, sustains, improves, and other feedback on a regular basis to further the wargaming JPG and wargaming analysis initiatives.Here’s what you’ll need:
You must have a BS degree at minimum, in a STEM field such as Math, Science or Engineering. Also, we’re looking for someone with a minimum of 4 full-time years of professional experience in areas such COCOM Wargame Planning. Finally, you must possess or have the ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance. Lacking any one of these disqualifies you from this job.
You also must have:
- Teamwork: builds JPG products, wargaming products, and works well with others to accomplish wargaming objectives. Shares best practices, expertise and SOPs, and builds team environment to enable the organization and team to resolve challenges, conflicts, and problems. Leads efforts and is a positive force within the J32 and wargame JPG environment.
- Leadership: Forms working groups and teams during JPG activities (planning and execution), facilitates stakeholder discussions, joint simulation requirements, and provides insight and updates to leadership to drive solutions, timelines, and project/event success.
- Customer focused: Engaging stakeholders, planners, and SMEs weekly to drive wargaming analysis capabilities and HQs Wargame JPG objectives. Professional, addresses questions, problems, and issues in a timely manner, while keeping the team and leadership informed of the situation and any insights learned.
