Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and experienced
Senior
Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with specific expertise in BigQuery. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouses that drive our data-driven decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines and ETL processes using BigQuery.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Optimize and manage data storage and retrieval processes to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for business improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources and systems.
- Ensure data quality and consistency across data solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in data engineering and Google Cloud technologies.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on BigQuery.
- Experience with data processing tools, such as Dataflow, Spark, or PySpark.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing concepts.
- Strong knowledge of ETL tools and processes.
Technical skills:
- Experience with data modeling, database design, and data integration.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Soft skills:
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to staying informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data engineering.
- Willingness to be you, show you care, and solve problems.
Bonus skills:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Relevant certifications in BigQuery or other Data Engineer tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of other BI tools and platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Qlik).
