Position Overview
Align is seeking an experienced IT Purchaser in our Plano, Texas office who will work with a great team in a growing company. The IT Purchaser has the responsibility of buying products and services. The items sourced may include hardware and software products, shipping materials, office and kitchen supplies, and/or services. Duties include price evaluations, market assessments, product ordering, record keeping and tracking of inbound/outbound orders.Position Details:

Responsibilities
This person will order and track the delivery of various IT products, create quotes, complete deal registrations, and manage the inventory of the warehouse in Plano, TX.
- Assess vendors and their offerings with interviews and analysis to assess their quality
- Negotiate sales agreements and supply contracts in ways that benefit the Company
- Create quotes and perform deal registration with vendors such as Cisco, Extreme, Lenovo, Palo Alto, Juniper, Samsung
- Order placement for IT products, software, equipment and materials, as well as internal use office supplies- update ConnectWise, complete orders, manage tracking information entry, and ensure invoicing and cost allocation is accurate
- Source and evaluate vendor products based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses
- Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure satisfactory fulfillment of all customer requests
- Coordinate with shipping agencies and sellers to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods and services, and manage the claims process as necessary to resolve any issues
- Order Management from creation of the purchase order to closure: update as lead times change, receive PO, add tracking and serial numbers, liaison with AP to ensure accuracy, close PO, work with AP to ensure accurate cost allocation
- Authorize payments and managing purchasing expenses with meticulous record-keeping
- Procurement ticket board monitoring – Updating/Closing tickets in ConnectWise
- Responsible for inventory management and all the logistics related to maintaining the Plano warehouse including accurate record keeping, overseeing laptop shipment/returns, and managing subscriptions for auto replenishment (ex. Element 78)
- Shipping of products including Fed Ex shipments, creating labels, scheduling pick-up and delivery, some international shipments and drop shipping
- Vendor Relations/Partnership Compliance – Engineer certifications to maintain partnership and not selling to non-registered clients - ICPA
- Contract/Subscription data maintenance through IT Glue for documentation
Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor's degree preferred, strong professional industry experience considered
- 3-6 years of experience as a Purchaser or in a related role, Managed Services or IT Value Added Reseller (VAR) industry experience is strongly preferred
- Strong industry experience for accurate product/service quality assessments
- Experience with Deal Registration including Not for Resale (NFR) Registration
- Relevant IT product knowledge (Cisco, Extreme, Lenovo, Palo Alto, Juniper, Samsung)
- Inventory management experience
- In-depth supply chain knowledge – understand lead times, typical pricing, and market conditions
- Knowledge of ConnectWise and IT Glue would be a significant advantage, but is not required
- Experience with vendor negotiations with both distributers and manufactures, and possess keen negotiation and business relationship building capabilities
- Understand order management including the creation of the PO to closure
- Knowledge of shipping insurance, and proper shipping to protect the company
- Knowledge of vendor analysis / spend and response time
- Must demonstrate consistency, accuracy, and follow-through
- Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
