The Systems Administrator is instrumental in maintaining the robustness and efficiency of our technological ecosystem across multiple locations and remote employees and is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, ensuring their optimal performance and enabling our teams to perform at the highest level.  In this role, you will also evaluate, test, and integrate the roll-out of new technologies supporting our strategic business initiatives. This position is primarily remote

however, we are seeking Austin area-based candidates available to participate in periodic meetings with our Austin-based Technology and Product teams as well as our 3rd party Austin based vendors.

  • Install, configure and maintain operating systems, application Software, and system management tools.
  • Monitor our technology ecosystems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security levels.
  • Deploy and manage device management and ticketing systems.
  • Implement and maintain technical policies.

Performance and Optimization

  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, making adjustments to optimize performance.
  • Perform system upgrades and modifications to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Build automation tools to progress towards a zero-touch deployment of IT devices.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent patch management schedule and protocol to safeguard endpoints against potential threats.
  • Proactively research, suggest, and implement enhancements to bolster efficiency across our infrastructure and workflows.

Project Management

  • Lead IT projects, including providing input, creating a project plan, communicating progress with IT Management and stakeholders/users, and meeting deadlines.
  • Evaluating, testing, and integrating the roll-out of new technologies supporting our strategic business initiatives
  • Develop, test, and roll out large-scale enterprise endpoint solutions, including device setups, OS deployments, and software distributions.

Network AdministrationConfigure and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

  • Monitor Network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure the smooth operation of network systems.

User Support and Training

  • Providing technical support to users, resolving hardware and software issues as needed
  • Investigate root causes of escalated client issues, devising and executing sustainable solutions and system upgrades.
  • Educate users on best practices and provide training for new systems and software.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.

What you will need:To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree or certification in a technology related discipline plus a minimum of five years of experience in IT with a proven track record of independently managing complex IT environments and projects
  • Proficiency in device management tools such as Okta, Freshdesk, Jira, and Mobile Device Management (MDM).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system and software issues efficiently and with an orientation toward long-term solutions that are scalable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams as well as articulate complex technical decisions to clients in a way that's easy to understand.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive task management and prioritization approach.
  • Knowledge of new technologies and processes to increase efficiency and seamless delivery of services on deadline.
