This is a
hybrid role based in our Los Angeles or New York City office and will require you to be in office Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What’s so interesting about this role?
Be the ‘right hand’ of the Head of Global Communications for the premier social connector in the LGBTQ space. There are some exciting developments happening this year at Grindr both in the US and Internationally and YOU get to help divide that narrative and get it out into the world, supporting a community that is often underserved.
What’s the job?
- Develop an overall communications strategy that will drive the Grindr business forward.
- Develop and execute effective internal communication strategies that advance company objectives.
- Create internal messaging, including emails, newsletters, presentations, and other internal communications.
- Build and manage internal communication processes to improve information flow and collaboration among various departments.
- Promote the business via print, broadcast, radio and podcasts, and build relationships with reporters in these areas.
- Arrange and coordinate interviews for key spokespeople with TV and streaming news channels in North America and other locations as needed.
- Write and distribute press releases about technology, deals and other relevant news.
- Organize meetings with business line executives and their counterparties at key financial, tech and business media.
- Track editorial calendars to ensure Grindr’s inclusion in relevant articles for target publications.
- Assist in managing awards process in the U.S.
- Assist in media training for Grindr executives and key personal.
- Work with the Global Communications head on internal communications and messaging.
- Monitor and distribute all news regarding the Company and those in the competitive space.
- Build and maintain a media list of key contacts.
- Maintain contracts and renewals for Vendors.
- Help manage projects and work on ad hoc projects as needed.
What we'll love about you
- 5-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, and/or journalism.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant or related field.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, and the ability to write both strategically and creatively under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in media monitoring tools such as Cision, MuckRack, or Brandwatch.
- A self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced environment, driven by attention to detail and with great follow-up skills.
- A team player with a willingness to roll up their sleeves on execution as we continue to grow our team.
We’ll really swoon if you have
- Experience in Finance, Tech, or Corporate Communications.
- A rolodex of existing press contacts in the business space.
- Strong social media acumen.

This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
