We are seeking a strategic, analytically minded Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to join our team in Chicago. This role is crucial for driving our financial forecasting, strategic planning, and budget management across the company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading FP&A teams, developing insightful financial analyses, and supporting key business decisions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes, providing high-quality financial models and analyses ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and financial targets.
- Develop and execute financial strategy in alignment with the company’s long-term goals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in finance processes, systems, and controls, leveraging best practices and technology to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Provide analytical support and strategic financial insights to the CFO and other executive team members, influencing decision-making processes
- Manage and mentor the FP&A team, fostering a culture of high performance & continuous improvement
- Collaborate with various department heads to ensure alignment and accuracy of forecasts and budgets
- Translate financial results and analysis into relevant, impactful narratives to communicate to stakeholders
- Present financial updates and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Identification, production, and analysis of key financial metrics (KPIs)
- M&A support as needed
Key Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information in an understandable format.
- Proficient with financial reporting software (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
