We look forward to your application. About the position:The Business Development Director will report directly to the Vice President for Clinical Education and is focused on acquiring new US health care institutional partnerships to grow AMOpportunities B2B revenue.

This role is eligible for a competitive commission plan based on new sales generated. The Business Development Director leads all new business development strategies and activities within the organization to build new partnership with medical, physician assistant, podiatric, and other health care accredited higher education institutions in seeking quality US clerkship, clinical rotation, and practicum placements for students. Responsible for the strategic growth, direction, and overall profitability of domestic B2B sales. While this position can be fully remote, we are looking for candidates to be residents of Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, New York, Florida, or Alabama only.Essential Functions: 


  • Strategic planning: Developing and executing a new business development strategy, setting goals, and implementing sales initiatives. Identifying new partnerships, as well as expanding into new markets


  • Sales management: Prospecting for new clients, identifying leads, and moving them through the sales cycle. Approach sales from a strategic, long-term perspective, building relationships with expanding schools. Ensure smooth transition of new school partners over to order fulfillment and operations teams 


  • Implementation: Facilitate the successful handoff to the Account Management team. This includes facilitating an onboarding meeting and ensuring necessary account properties are populated 


  • Client relations: Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, advisors and co-workers 


  • Financial management: Using data driven analysis to improve sales revenue, preparing financial projections, and tracking sales progress 


  • Events and school site visits: Attending conferences, conducting school site visits, and managing other related events, including webinars. Travel expectation 20 - 30%. 


  • Training: Training and mentoring business development staff to improve sales processes and meet expectations 


  • Collaboration: Work closely with other internal teams to attract new clients, improve services and identify opportunities for growth 


  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of AMO's products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive 

Education/Experience/Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, master's preferred 


  • 7+ years' experience in B2B account sales, business development and/or account management in a competitive environment. Demonstrated sales results. Experience selling to higher education institutions is preferred 


  • Background in medical education or understanding of the challenges US healthcare schools face in securing practicums or clinical rotations is preferred 


  • A relationship driven sales mindset that fosters genuine engagement and understanding of clients’ needs, aspirations and pain points leading to increased customer loyalty and sustainable revenue growth        


  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal 


  • Comfortable using data to inform sales processes 


  • Proficient with CRM software ex: HubSpot/Salesforce 


  • Proficient with Microsoft Office & Adobe applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Sign, and Editing PDFs 


  • Exceptional time-management, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks  


  • Self-starter and results-oriented with the ability to focus on and meet deadlines and goals 


  • Adept at handling tight deadlines and evolving work environment 

What You Gain:


  • Competitive base salary of $70,000 to $78,000 annually, with an uncapped commission plan with potential to earn into the 6-figures annually if company goals are hit.
