Director, Customer Success Engineering

OpenX is seeking a Director of Customer Success Engineering with significant technical and customer-facing experience in the programmatic ecosystem to join our Publisher Development organization. This executive will manage OpenX’s Solutions Architect and Support Engineering teams while representing OpenX to leading publishers and other supply partners. The person in this role will be building a world class SA and SE team to drive revenue optimization and integration health, be the client facing technical expert and thought leader, and be our clients technical VOC with OpenX product teams to build our roadmap . The role will report directly to the VP of Publisher Partnerships. 
We are looking for a technical and revenue focused leader, who is a highly motivated self-starter with relationships at leading publishers. This person is a player coach, with a deep technical understanding of the programmatic SSP landscape and is an expert in publisher RTB integrations across CTV, web, and app publishers. They are an expert in identifying technical challenges, limitations, troubleshooting, and providing solutions that drive revenue for our supply partners.  A proven track record of managing technical teams and achieving targets is required.

Key Responsibilities


  • Engage and meet with OpenX publisher partners and lead technical conversations on OpenX products, integrations, and industry thought leadership. 
  • Gather market insights, competitive intel, and technical specs and represent our customers VOC directly to OpenX product teams to drive innovation and product roadmap advancement. 
  • Identify customer challenges/opportunities through data analysis and exchange knowledge and action on that data to drive revenue and scalable solutions.
  • Establish proactive best practices and documentation for CTV signal audits, cookieless solution implementation, and data integrations that drive revenue across OpenX top 200 partners.
  • Troubleshoot customer integrations, discrepancies, auction mechanics, and IR’s to implement timely solutions for our customers - SQL and query writing is required
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management in all technical aspects of pre and post sale customer support, and be an expert on all OpenX product solutions. 
  • Manage SA and SE teams, host 1:1s, build career development plans for direct reports.
  • Partner with OpenX buy-side teams to strategize, educate, and execute agency, advertiser, and DSP deals on the OpenX platforms. 
  • Represent OpenX as a brand ambassador at various industry events and conferences.

Required Qualifications


  • 7+ years of technical programmatic sales experience at SSP, Ad Server, or programmatic publisher
  • Deep understanding of the CTV landscape and experience in integration best practices and signal audits
  •  Expert is SQL and query writing for technical diagnosis and troubleshooting 
  • Ability to engage in strategic conversations with senior level executives 
  • Exceptional verbal, written, communication and presentation skills
  • High energy, self-motivated and passionate about working in a fast-paced startup environment

$160,000 - $185,000 a yearPursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, New York Fair Chance Act, and any other state or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation. OpenX is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For applicants in New York, New Jersey, California, and Colorado, the base salary range is $160,000-185,000 per year + bonus + equity + benefits.
