We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Compliance Officer to join our team. The Compliance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that our trading activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. What will you be doing?
- Develop, implement, and enforce compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including but not limited to SEC, FINRA, and CFTC regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of trading activities, systems, and controls to identify and mitigate compliance risk as well as review for potential violations of regulatory requirements and internal policies, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry best practices, providing guidance and recommendations to senior management on emerging compliance issues.
- Collaborate with trading teams, developers, and other departments to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into trading strategies and systems.
- Conduct compliance training and education programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from regulatory authorities, conducting internal investigations as necessary and coordinating responses to regulatory inquiries and examinations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance-related documentation, including compliance manuals, risk assessments, and reports.
- Participate in regulatory audits and examinations, liaising with external auditors and regulators as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, industry organizations, and other external stakeholders.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance roles within the financial services industry, preferably in proprietary trading or electronic trading environments
- Strong understanding of SEC, FINRA, and CFTC regulations applicable to proprietary trading firms
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
