We are looking for a skilled Supply Chain Contractor with in-depth knowledge of UK and European Union (EU) procurement, regulations and logistics to assist in the development and implementation of our supply chain operations in the EU via a short-term contract (approximately 12 months) with the possibility of extension to complete phase 2 deliverables in support of ramp up activities. The successful candidate will develop a new supply chain network for Impossible Foods while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain processes, support of commercialization efforts, compliance with local regulations, and seamless integration with our existing global supply chain network.
Essential Job Functions:
- Distribution & Logistics: Identify transportation and warehousing network distributors (distributor and/or direct managed), including developing suitable 3PL partners to streamline the supply chain. Partner with internal Tax/Compliance teams to ensure solutions align with regulatory requirements.
- Vendor Selection: Identify and engage with local suppliers, distributors, and 3PL partners - develop vendor selection recommendations and plans
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with EU/UK regulations, including customs, import/export procedures, and product labeling and EU/UK data protection regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to address disruptions, such as trade disputes, weather events, or geopolitical issues.
- Performance Metrics: Develop KPIs and reporting mechanisms to monitor supply chain performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various internal departments, such as Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to ensure alignment with supply chain strategies and objectives.
- Cost Efficiency: Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities and process improvements while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Training and Knowledge Transfer: Train local staff and teams on EU supply chain procedures, ensuring a seamless handover for successful long-term operations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (or Bachelor's + experience) in Operations, Supply Chain or similar field and 8-12 years of experience.
- Proven track record in supply chain management and commercialization within the EU/UK.
- Strong understanding of EU supply chain regulations and customs procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to build and optimize complex supply chain networks.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and project management skills.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in relevant supply chain software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Fluent in English & Dutch.
- Location - Netherlands or UK with the requirement to travel to Netherlands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Distribution and logistics experience within the consumer packaged goods industry.
- Experience with setting up order to cash processes.
- Experience with financial integration of supply chain and sourcing systems.
- Knowledge of the dynamics of the plant-based industry.
