This role is an exciting opportunity to join a high growth company and have a material impact on a new product segment within the business. This role will sit on the Credit and Data Science team, and while focusing on the Credit Card product, will have the opportunity to learn from credit developments and best practices in Empower’s other established lines of business.\The ideal candidate is passionate about using data and analytics to drive business growth and help customers improve their financial situations. This individual and their team will own workstreams across credit policy, testing, and valuations and will be asked to take projects from ideation to execution. They will also need to partner with product, tech, and finance teams to build out solutions that differentiate Empower. The right person for this role is someone who shines while solving complex problems and is comfortable with a wide variety of technical tools. Travel for company offsites is expected at a minimum 2 times a year.
Key Responsibilities
- Build customer management infrastructure for Empower’s new Credit Card product, including:
- credit limit increase policies
- loss mitigation policies and tools
- broad tests to optimize the future business
- valuations models
- customer management score models (in conjunction with Empower’s Data Science team)
- automated systems to monitor business performance
- Collaborate effectively with:
- Finance to ensure the work fits into the broader company strategy
- Product and Marketing to ensure we keep customers engaged with the product
- Operations and External Vendors to ensure seamless execution of loss mitigation strategies
- Data Infrastructure to ensure sound data quality used for analytics
Candidate Qualifications
- B.S. degree in engineering, business, finance, computer science or mathematics
- 3+ years industry experience in data analytics and credit risk management
- Experience designing tests and building credit policies Strong SQL and Python abilities
- Adaptable to pick up new tools and analytical methods
- Comfort working with a variety of cross functional partners in tech, product, credit, and business
- Strong and structured approach to problem solving and ability to use of frameworks to communicate complex topics in an effective manner
- (Preferred) At least two year at a bank or FinTech working in credit analytics
$128,000 - $209,000 a yearFor US based employee's, this salary range includes multiple career levels of consideration and will be discussed further during the interview process. The salary range is based on a variety of factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, and business needs.
