ROLE OVERVIEW
Our infrastructure powers everything we do, from the basics of keeping the site up to running CRISPR algorithms over genomes. We’re looking for a Product Manager who will contribute to our infrastructure strategy, with a focus on improving and communicating Benchling’s availability.This role is crucial in enhancing the availability and reliability of our products, ensuring that our internal developers, executives, and external customers have a clear understanding of product performance. As a Product Manager for Infrastructure, you will drive the development of tools and strategies such as product status pages, tenant availability reports, and robust Disaster Recovery plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with core infrastructure teams to enhance product availability and reliability
- Develop and maintain tools for internal and external stakeholders to monitor product performance, including product status pages and availability reports
- Lead initiatives to define and improve Disaster Recovery strategy
- Gather and prioritize product requirements from internal customers (developers), executives, and external customers
- Create detailed product specifications and work closely with engineering teams to implement solutions
- Analyze and report on the impact of infrastructure improvements
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions and strategies
- Act as a liaison between the infrastructure teams, other engineering teams, and cross-functional partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities
- Manage the product lifecycle from planning to execution, including post-launch evaluations and continuous improvements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager in Cloud infrastructure and B2B SaaS
- Proven track record of managing and delivering infrastructure projects that improve product availability and reliability
- Strong understanding of Cloud infrastructure, SaaS products, and Enterprise customer needs
- Experience with monitoring tools, product status pages, and reporting on product availability
- Technical background with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong customer focus and a passion for improving user experience
SALARY RANGE
Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $145,000 - $196,000.Total Compensation includes the following:
