OVERVIEW
We are seeking a software engineer with a focus on data infrastructure to join the Modern Treasury Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of our next-generation data platform, while also building the infrastructure required to scale Modern Treasury's products. Our core payments product helps businesses move and track money, reconciling over $2.5 billion in monthly volume. Our ledgers product, a unique managed database, helps customers maintain a reliable source of truth for high-volume financial transactions and is already tracking hundreds of millions of dollars.
Additionally, our reconciliation product identifies and matches financial transactions across systems, using AI to improve match rates over time. Our products feature intricate data architectures with stringent reliability and stability requirements. We are seeking an infrastructure expert to guide essential architectural decisions during development. This role may be a perfect fit for you if:
You have designed, built, and launched new dimensional models, data pipelines, and large-scale data and analytical platforms, leveraging data systems, open source, or cloud technologies while mentoring others in efficient querying.
You have introduced and driven adoption of analytics frameworks to help internal stakeholders understand customer experiences and user engagement. You have also worked with engineering teams to improve & guarantee data quality, privacy and security of the data platform.
You have experience with multiple infrastructure layers, including storage, networking, orchestration, deployment, data processing, observability, and monitoring, ensuring high reliability and availability on both bare-metal and cloud providers.
Our API is often the most critical piece of infrastructure that our customers use. We place a premium on building robust, scalable systems that can sustain a high volume of API calls and exceed the reliability requirements to move money at scale. We complement this with well-thought out interfaces for our users and pride in writing quality API docs.We believe in using the best tool for the job, rather than always using open source or building things ourselves. We actively embrace open source in parts of our system but aren't afraid to roll our own solution for things like writing and parsing bank files. In addition to our API, we have had a web platform since day 1 that is used by accountants, controllers, and engineers.
They use our platform to do things like manage payment workflows and monitor their business. As an engineer, you will work with our product team to build products and features for these users.
