If this sounds like an environment that you believe could work for you then read on to find out more.We're looking for a Head of Legal for a cover of 9 months full time, to provide legal support to various departments across Tyk:
- Reporting to the CFO on a day to day basis, this role will also involve directly advising, supporting and challenging the wider business on a range of commercial, employment and company secretarial matters.
- Provide hands-on support to our sales team. Review, draft and negotiate sales contracts. Direct interaction with our customers via contract negotiation processes. Championing Tyk processes - ensuring these are understood and followed by the team.
- Review, negotiate and conclude business-contracts more generally, including supplier contracts. Providing proactive and timely support to Tyk’s procurement platform.
- Proactively identify relevant business and legal issues, define and assess the materiality of risks and find creative solutions.
- Horizon scan and provide advice to the business on changes to laws and regulation to ensure Tyk conducts its business in accordance with the evolving legal landscape.
- Provide support and guidance on all matters relating to data protection, privacy and GDPR regulations.
- Work together with our compliance team to ensure Tyk is well placed to respond to any future due diligence processes, compliance reviews or audits.
- Maintain and regularly review our key standard legal documents & templates such as client contracts, data and privacy policies, terms and conditions, NDAs, etc.
Requirements
- Admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales with extensive experience in-house (technology focus). NY admission will also be considered.
- Experience of SaaS contracts, software licensing, and software development.
- The ability to identify relevant business and legal issues proactively, define and assess the materiality of risks, find creative solutions to maintain business momentum.
- First-class communication skills and an ability to explain complex legal issues and requirements to a range of internal and external stakeholders (including but not limited to our customers and investors, VCs).
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution.
- Natural enjoyment from rolling your sleeves up and the general hustle of a scaling global business.
