To accomplish this, you will be part of a collaborative, antedisciplinary team building our biological software.To unlock the next generation of mRNA therapeutics, we need to be able to test mRNAs designs generated via deep learning in vivo. Your work will enable the first step toward this goal by developing methods to produce mRNA at a scale and quality sufficient for testing ML-generated designs in vivo.
In addition to ensuring high-quality data acquisition, you will be responsible for the development of standard-operating procedures, communicating results to the company at large, and improving our models through detailed record keeping.Your Mission, should you choose to accept it
- Develop and implement methods to produce high quality mRNA at scale sufficient for in vivo testing

- Collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds to build innovative and scalable experiments to solve complex problems that span biology and computation
Minimum Qualifications
- MSc with 2+ years of biochemistry industry experience, or PhD in a relevant field (biochemistry, chemistry, biological engineering)
- Expertise in preparative purification methods of macromolecules (e.g. FPLC, HPLC, various column chromatography methods, tangential flow filtration)
- Problem-solver who is equally excited by finding creative solutions to complex problems as you are by executing them
- Ability to communicate technical and scientific concepts to team members from a broad variety of backgrounds
- Availability to accommodate working with team members across different time zones, with one or two meetings per week starting at 8am PT or finishing at 7pm CET
- Readiness to travel several times a year for company retreats and business events
- We value the benefits of in-person collaboration and expect candidates to primarily work at our office locations
Preferred Technical Skills
- Solid foundation in molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g. cloning, PCR, RT-PCR, cell culture, and transfections)
- A deep understanding of biochemistry and RNA biology
- Expertise in the production and quality control of mRNA molecules at larger scale (1 - 500 mg).
- Experience in the characterization of mRNA molecules (e.g. capillary electrophoresis, qPCR, capping efficiency, dsRNA content)
