ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The role of Senior Accountant at Prizeout will be a hands-on position that works directly with the Prizeout operations team and with senior leadership. This individual will be responsible for managing various financial functions and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the company by establishing efficient financial processes and providing strategic insights. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in complex accounting principles, and possesses excellent communication skills.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Handle all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial operations (FinOps) functions
- Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial statements; ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits; prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation to support audit procedures
- Prepare and file tax returns including income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory filings; stay updated on tax laws and regulations relevant to the industry
- Establish and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and operations
- Develop and maintain internal controls and record-keeping; regularly review processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- At least 3-6 years of experience in Accounting; experience at a fintech or high-growth company is a plus
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Google Office Suite; experience with Quickbooks preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and high-growth environment with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and make tradeoffs when guidance is limited and information incomplete
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
- Must be willing to work full-time in New York City; this is not a remote role
$90,000 - $115,000 a year
The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000
