We are looking for a problem solver with experience scaling operations to support diverse teams. This leader will have exceptional communication, cross-functional coordination, and analytical abilities. As the Head of Clinical Quality and Training, you will work with the Clinical Operations teams including our large Health Coach team to effectively scale our onboarding and operations. This person will be responsible for scaling several key systems, processes, and tools needed to serve hundreds of thousands of patients including but not limited to onboarding, ongoing training & development, knowledge management, standard operating procedures, continuous process improvement, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
Learning
Develop and execute on a learning & development strategy for our clinical teams including health coaches and medical providers.
Scale new hire onboarding to onboard 3x the number of coaches and providers while ensuring efficient ramp and quality outcomes. Determine the right modalities (e.g. self-led vs. live) to enable flexibility in the frequency and size of cohorts.
Own ongoing training curriculum and calendar for tenured health coaches and providers in a way that balances core subjects (e.g. Motivational Interviewing) with evolving priorities (e.g. Ozempic).
Broaden learning methodologies, tools, and evaluation to inform curriculum development and ensure effective learning and application.
Development
Support Clinical leaders in developing and managing tools to facilitate performance and development conversations.
Provide opportunities for evolving leaders to showcase their expertise through lectures, guides, etc.
Launch certification program to upskill Coaches and create differentiated development pathways.
Treatment and Workflows
Coordinate the evolution of our treatment model and clinical interventions including updated workflows, training, and standards that translate into quality outcomes.
Oversee the knowledge management system including ongoing updates to facilitate “on-the-job” learning and job aids.
Drive the Clinical Scope of Practice and update as needed in collaboration with cross functional experts (e.g. legal/compliance).
Quality Assurance (QA)
Oversee the evolution of our Quality Assurance process (i.e. chart audits) to ensure consistent and impactful feedback and learnings including measurement (rubric), assigned reviewers, calibration, reporting, etc.
Contribute to the overall quality improvement process in collaboration with our coaching leaders, identifying training and workflow opportunities to uplevel our teams.
Other
Leverage and promote the latest technologies to help automate and enhance quality and training including ChatGPT and other AI tools. Work collaboratively with our technical teams to broadly apply these improvements.
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Meet with stakeholders across the organization to develop a robust understanding of the business including coaching, medical group, enrollment, patient support, legal & compliance, and product.
Understand the Virta treatment, our core philosophies, and the strategy to scale so that these can be integrated into the quality and training.
Manage all facets of new coach & provider onboarding & training including partnering with the respective team leaders, to ensure Virta can onboard coaches seamlessly while scaling
Lead the rollout of our new knowledge management system for our clinical teams in collaboration with the current project lead. Develop improved processes for creating and updating workflows and policies.
Partner with our Quality Assurance lead to develop a strategy for 2025 including any updates to sampling, frequency, rubrics, reviewers, etc.
Create a strategic roadmap to onboard 3x the number of Coaches and Providers without significantly increasing costs or sacrificing quality or outcomes
Partner with Clinical Operations leadership to identify and execute on opportunities for quality and training.

Experience supporting and scaling front-line teams ideally with a distributed/remote component

Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $135,000 - $195,000.
