Role Overview:
Boom Supersonic is seeking a Thermodynamic Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for developing a full vehicle thermal model to assist in aircraft system design and integration.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a full vehicle thermal model of Overture aircraft, including skin heating during supersonic flight and effects on interiors/systems.
- Interface with various aircraft IPTs to provide detailed thermal analysis and modeling support as well as vehicle level system analysis support.
- Conduct technical thermodynamic work in Propulsion, Bleed Systems, ECS, Fuel, Anti Ice and other systems as required.
- Integrate a propulsion model into the full vehicle thermal model.
- Support design trade studies of the applicable systems to ensure the right solution for Overture.
- Collaborate with other team members throughout the design & integration activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering with 10 or more years of experience in aerospace or an equivalent combination of technical education and aerospace experience
- 5+ years’ experience in aerospace thermodynamic modeling and analysis
- Fundamental understanding of aircraft systems.
- The ability to interface effectively with different groups.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated success leading challenging technical work.
- Experience in aircraft subsystem design, analysis and integration.
- Experience with thermal analysis of supersonic aircraft.
- Preferred Tool Experience
- SINDA/FLUINT, ABAQUS, MSC SINDA, NASTRAN or similar thermal analysis codes FEMAP or similar grid generation software Simscape, Simscape Fluids, Amesim for multi-physics systems modeling, Lower Level Programming for Thermal Analysis: MATLAB, Excel
Compensation:
The Hourly Rate Range for this position is $57.00 - $80.00. Actual pay rate will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Application Deadline - 7/26/2024
