The Role:
The ideal candidate will lead the global function, focusing on strategic planning, execution, and optimization of all marketing events, including trade shows, conferences, and customer events. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of the role events play in driving brand awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement. In addition to managing the global field Marketing function, we are looking for a marketing and events Director to support the growth efforts in our rapidly growing APAC and EMEA markets, driving strategy, execution, and measurable impact of all global marketing programs.
You will work closely with the APAC and EMEA GTM teams and the marketing team in HQ, located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Event Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with Imply's marketing and business objectives. This includes identifying key events, setting goals, and defining success metrics. Provide opportunities to educate, engage, and inspire our community, customers, prospects, and partners
- Event Execution: Lead the planning and execution of all events, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and with high-quality outcomes. This includes coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, and event organizers.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor the events team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful event execution. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment in alignment with our core values.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, including event production companies, designers, and suppliers. Negotiate contracts and ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the events budget, ensuring proper allocation of resources and cost control.
- Marketing & GTM Integration: Collaborate with other marketing teams and sales leadership (content, digital, PR, etc.) to ensure events are effectively promoted and integrated into broader marketing campaigns.
- Analytics and Reporting: Establish KPIs for events and track performance against these metrics. Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Customer Engagement: Ensure events provide valuable experiences for attendees and drive customer engagement. Collect feedback from attendees and use it to enhance future events.
- Customer Advocacy: Engage and build relationships with customers and help identify customer advocates for case studies and speaking opportunities.
- Innovation and Creativity: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and bring innovative ideas to enhance the impact and reach of events.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in B2B tech marketing, ideally in enterprise software / infrastructure organizations; with at least 3 years of leadership experience
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale events, including conferences.
- Excellent communicator -Comfortable presenting to all levels, including executives
- Strong collaborator. Experience in working with internal and external stakeholders across the globe
- Experience in working with Marketo, Salesforce, and event management tools
- Strong project manager with hands-on experience in budget management
