Role Summary
We are looking for ARIA’s first Partnerships Lead to build our partnerships function from the ground up, owning key strategic relationships and facilitating connectivity (for the agency and our programmes) across academia, government and industry. This role will be part of ARIA’s Product Team, reporting to the Chief Product Officer and working closely with ARIA’s Programme Directors and Comms & Marketing team. Your expertise will be critical to us unlocking the potential of our research and advancing ARIA’s mission.
What you’ll do
The scope of the role will evolve as ARIA continues to grow, but will broadly involve the following:
Design and build the partnerships function at ARIA from the ground up, setting the strategic direction, success metrics and ways of working
Identify, build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders across industry, government, academia and the wider R&D ecosystem (including other funding agencies, research councils and ALBs - both within the UK and internationally).
Facilitate high-value connectivity for all of our opportunity spaces and programmes, working with our Programme Directors to:
+ support ecosystem mapping, identifying important gaps and opportunities + develop a proactive strategy for each programme’s partnerships engagement + continuously identify new opportunities for collaboration and learning + manage inbound requests + identify and leverage external resources
Support our comms team to tell the story of our programmes externally, presenting complex scientific/technical research objectives to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Own and manage the partnerships use within the CRM, setting the strategy and leading on best practice
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, comms and the executive team
Deliver in person and virtual events with partners to grow awareness within their ecosystems
Stay informed on market developments, industry and research trends and other events to make our organisation and programmes as effective as possible
Who you are
A successful candidate will bring many of the following skills/experience to the role:
Proven track record of successfully establishing and managing strategic partnerships in the science or technology space
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build rapport and influence a diverse set of stakeholders
Ability to understand and communicate scientific/technical research ideas and objectives to both technical and non-technical audiences
Willingness to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and get stuck into the operational/systems work required to make this function a success
Ability (and excitement!) to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team
