UMortgage is looking for a driven, detail-oriented, and communicative Lock Desk Analyst to join our growing Operations Team. As the Lock Desk Analyst, you will own all aspects of the lock desk process, from performing lock requests and price exceptions and working with third party lenders and investors. What You’ll Do
Process new and follow-up rate lock requests and pricing changes from our Loan Origination and Portal Software.
Provide support to outside sales and operations team members on all pricing-related matters through phone calls, emails, and ticket inquiries.
Work closely with sales, processing, underwriting, closing, and leadership to ensure that loans in the pipeline are sold quickly and accurately.
Provide firm guidance and support to the loan origination staff allowing them to focus on customer contact and analysis of new transactions.
Assist with the training and development of Capital Markets team members and delegate responsibilities to Capital Markets team members as needed.
Confidently communicate with team members of various departments and experience levels, providing insight on process improvements and corrective actions.
Monitor and report on locked pipeline activity, including lock expiration dates.
Identify and troubleshoot pricing system issues, working closely with IT and leadership to propose solutions.
Efficiently action any lock requests within the required time frame to ensure that proper revenue is made.
Responsible for assisting with additional training for lenders.
Communicate with Inside and Outside Loan Originators via email and phone regarding product/pricing scenarios (ie. pricing loan quotes, competitive price matching, etc.) as well as assume the position of main point of contact for third parties.
Build, maintain and enforce lock desk policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities related to business needs.
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics a plus.
1-4 years of experience in mortgage banking/lending or financial services role.
Strong organization, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Strong work ethic with a career-driven mindset.
Exceptional follow-up and problem-solving skills.
Advanced MS Office skills, with a special focus on Excel.
