Key Output
• Gather relevant data to support failure / condition reports• Compile failure / condition reports to conform to BRC quality standards• Create SIMS reports for all repairs• Provide technical representatives with sufficient information to complete the root cause analysis process• Utilise appropriate technology to develop own competence e.g. Cat DPC, etc.• Perform root cause analysis of failed components and parts ,Advise and assist in failure analysis outcomes• Develop expertise in analysing failures by coaching• Analyse and record failures and final results captured in database• Compile informative failure analysis reports and feedback to all relevant parties• Provide expert technical support for Warranty resolution • Ensure proper implementation and using of parts reusability guidelines • Ensure effective self-management and performance ownership• Maintain a high level of productivity in booking recoveries
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
• Qualified Artisan. [Mechanic in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Mechanic)]• >3 years post qualification experience in field service, workshop or component rebuild environment• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in rebuilding of transmissions, drivetrain and hydraulic components.• Troubleshooting experience will be an added advantage.• Computer literacy (MS Office and applicable Caterpillar Software, e.g. SIS, ET, VIMS, Scrap Barrel Analysis, etc)• Completion of applied failure analysis courses (AFA 1 & 2)• SOS interpretation will be an added advantage
