Hi there, I’m
Marina, a Talent Acquisition Specialist. Together with Jere, Site Reliability Manager, we’re on the lookout for the Site Reliability Engineer for his team.

What’s in it for you

  • Key role in the company operations: in bigger companies, employees may never get as much as access and responsibility for their systems.
  • Base salary, bonus, and employee benefits. You’ll get more details on the compensation during an intro call with Marina.
  • Opportunity to gain knowledge of maintaining business-critical and highly available infrastructure and get specialization in telco.
  • Publicly listed SaaS company that develops its own technology.
  • Truly international experience working with talents of 27 nationalities in 8 countries: you’ll be working with a multicultural and diverse group of colleagues.

What you can expect as our Site Reliability Engineer

at LeadDesk

  • You’ll be performing infrastructure maintenance and development, including ansible automations, monitoring scripts, troubleshooting, etc.
  • You’ll oversee 3rd level support escalations and client requests.
  • You’ll take part in SOC shifts (9-17 on-site) for the whole (Mon-Fri) week every 4 weeks. Namely: responding to monitoring alerts and critical client issues, proactive problem mitigation, and release deployments.
  • You’ll participate in rotational 24x7 shifts (9-17 normal shift + 17-09 on-call shift) approximately once per month. Namely: responding to monitoring alerts and critical client issues through on-call customer emergency line.
  • You’ll have partner and client co-operation meetings (occasionally).

Besides your colleagues from the Site Reliability team, you’ll be weekly cooperating with Professional Services, Research and Development, Telco, and Support.

What success looks like in this role

Ideally, after the first 4 months, you’ve:

  • Acquired sufficient knowledge of LeadDesk’s infrastructure.
  • Deployed LeadDesk services to production.
  • Been able to take part in your first independent 24x7 shift.

This is where the match happens

Must-haves

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (AMK/University) of Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in tech support (ideally: tier 2) or system’s administration/SRE.
  • Ability to comprehend a complex infrastructure (e.g., Linux), troubleshoot with logs or networking tools, and write scripts in your preferred programming language.
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English.

As a person, you feel comfortable being responsible for critical tasks and working autonomously. In addition, working in a team and in an office doesn’t make you cringe. 😉Finally, a skill to react to situations rather than to stress and interest in technology are what’ll help you perform well from day 1.

Nice-to-haves

  • Windows administration experience.
  • SIP and VoIP experience.

Practicalities

  • Your location: Helsinki metropolitan area (Finland).
  • Work model: Hybrid. During non-shift work: on average 3 days per week in the HQ office. During a SOC shift: every day in the HQ office.
  • Start date: As soon as possible.
  • Employment period: Permanent.
  • Work permit: A valid work permit is required (Unfortunately, we don’t yet provide help with relocation processes).
