Our team is moving fast and expanding, and this is an exciting time to join us on our journey to shape the future of virtual golf.We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in driving our engineering efforts. Leading a team of approximately 10 engineers, you will be responsible for setting engineering standards, mentoring team members, and actively contributing to coding. We seek someone passionate about technology and gaming, with a strong background in 3D development, Unity, and gameplay programming, who can thrive in the fast-paced environment of a startup while maintaining technical excellence.
You Will
- Lead and manage the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Develop and implement engineering standards and best practices on the gameplay side to ensure high-quality code and efficient workflows.
- Mentor and guide team members, helping them enhance their technical skills and career growth.
- Actively participate in coding, contributing to the architecture and development of key gameplay features and systems.
- Collaborate closely with product and design teams to align on project goals, influence product development, and ensure technical feasibility.
- Drive technical decisions, ensuring they align with company goals and contribute to the overall success of the product.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and promote best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into the development process where appropriate.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of the application.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
You Are
- A senior-level engineer with 10+ years of experience in the tech and/or gaming/VR industry, with a strong background in 3D development, Unity, and gameplay programming.
- An experienced leader who has successfully managed and mentored a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Hands-on with coding and passionate about staying involved in the development process while also setting up and enforcing engineering standards and best practices.
- A problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable code.
- An excellent communicator who knows how to work effectively in a remote or distributed team environment.
- Not afraid to take on new challenges and willing to learn and develop new skills as needed to complete tasks.
- Able to pivot quickly between multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Enthusiastic about gaming and technology, with a passion for creating immersive and engaging experiences for users.
