Patient Care Coordinator (Better Concierge)

Better Health is growing and looking for a Patient Care Associate (Better Concierge) to help lead in taking care of the needs of patients referred to us by our provider and health system partners.Our Patient Care Associate, Better Concierge, will be responsible for assisting patients and providers in every step of their medical supply journeys, from product selection to insurance handling and supply delivery. We are looking for someone that is a problem solver and ready to think outside the box to improve member quality of life.
Our objective is for the Better Concierge to bring the service quality of a five star hotel to the world of medical supplies. This role reports to our Enrollment and Activations Manager.
Who is Better Health?
Better Health is a new type of medical provider built on peer to peer connection, helping people with chronic conditions live and age at home. We bundle peer support, education, and home delivery of medical supplies in an end-to-end digital care solution. We help our members discover and purchase the best medical equipment and supplies to address their underlying chronic conditions and receive the education and support they need to thrive at home.Since our inception in November 2019, Better Health has gained Medicare licenses in 46 states, 16 Medicaid licenses, and preferred national provider contracts with leading payers, including Oscar Health and Humana.
This has allowed our member base to rapidly grow with virtually no churn. We are backed by Caffeinated Capital, General Catalyst, Mastry, 8VC, Bill Ackman and a large group of experienced investors and entrepreneurs (see our series A announcement post).
What will you do as the Patient Care Coordinator?
- Be the first and last one to talk to patients about their needs, providers about their referrals, and payers about plan coverage
- Work with urgency daily between patients, providers, and payers to get patients needed medical supplies
- Manage complex processes across teams, connecting the dots to do whatever is needed to get the job done
- Use ticketing tools and manual processes to make sure nothing falls through the cracks
- Liaise with our care team to connect patients with peer support and educational resources to support their condition management
- Strategize with our team to collaborate on ways to improve internal functions and improve outcomes
What do you bring to the table?
- You have worked with patients in a healthcare environment
- You have worked at a DME company or adjacent to medical supplies
- You have experience in a clinical setting - physician’s office, hospital setting, or similar environment
- Your schedule is flexible, allowing you to meet the needs of patients whenever they arise
- You’re a go-getter, who’s known to be a diligent worker who always gets the job done
- Knowledgeable in Google Suite, Slack, ticketing software, and insurance billing tools
- Required: Able and willing to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
- Preferred: Able to write and speak both Spanish and English
