Compensation:
The range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually. The salary offered will be based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
What You Will Do:
- Develop, maintain, and demonstrate current knowledge of applicable State and Federal Laws and Industry Regulations, including but not limited to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and Truth in Lending Act (TILA).
- Lead comprehensive audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance, provide value-added recommendations, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
- Respond to auditor requests promptly, providing accurate and thorough documentation to support audit processes.
- Maintain systematic organization and clear documentation of all materials provided for audits, ensuring readiness for both scheduled and unscheduled audits.
- Develop, implement, and execute audit plans, including schedules, scope, and objectives, to ensure thorough compliance evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient audit processes.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports on audit findings to management, including recommendations for policy and procedure adjustments to enhance compliance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Policies and Procedures remain compliant and adhered to in all areas.
- Prepare and deliver assigned reports to management in a timely and accurate manner, keeping management informed of key compliance issues which impact the business.
- Proactively identify and address potential compliance concerns and assess regulatory risk.
- On-board vendors, ensure adherence to company policy, and maintain accurate records for compliance purposes.
- Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory requirements and company policies, and participate in compliance and risk management committees.
- Prioritize open items and manage deadlines effectively to ensure timely completion of all compliance-related tasks.
What You Should Have:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years relevant compliance experience in Banking, Fintech, or Financial Services.
- Experience navigating consumer protection laws such as ECOA, FCRA, TILA, and the FDCPA.
- Experience conducting audits, providing applicable documentation, and responding to potential findings.
- Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and inquisitive in nature
- Strong research skills
- Detailed knowledge of regulations and ability to interpret them
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) is required
- Proficiency using Salesforce, JIRA, and Trello a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects with strict time limits on an ongoing basis.
- Strong ability and desire to work in a collaborative team environment
