We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Facility and Equipment Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the management of projects, facilities, and machinery, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, overseeing equipment operations, and supporting facility management tasks to maintain a safe and productive working environment.

Though there are clerical responsibilities for this position, this isn't a desk position. This position requires you to be involved with all aspects of facilities management, including routine, practical, or more junior work.


Responsibilities:


  • Facility Management:
  • Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of facilities.
  • Coordinate and oversee routine inspections and maintenance of the building and grounds.
  • Coordinate and supervise repair activities to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage facility-related projects, including renovations and upgrades.
  • Equipment Management:
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine inspections and safety audits of all machinery and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in the procurement of new equipment and parts.
  • Project Management:
  • Support the planning, execution, and completion of various projects.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and present project reports to management.
  • Inventory and Procurement:
  • Manage inventory of facility and equipment supplies.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and maintenance activities.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Director of PP&E and Facility and Equipment Manager to develop and implement maintenance strategies.
  • Provide training and support to facility and equipment staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain documentation related to facility and equipment management.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records of maintenance activities.
  • Assist in budgeting and financial planning for facility and equipment needs.

  • Qualifications:


    • Understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility and equipment management.
    • Strong knowledge of facility maintenance, equipment operation, and project management.
    • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Proficient in using facility management software and tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to select, negotiate with, and manage external contractors and service providers.
    • Forklift Certified

    Working Conditions:


    • This position may require occasional evening or weekend work.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
    • May require working in various environmental conditions.
