Job Description:
Netsync’s Technical Editor I manages multiple, simultaneous projects from start to finish under tight deadlines. The Technical Editor I is a highly skilled communicator, who can adeptly comprehend unfamiliar topics, extracting technical information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization to ensure documentation clarity.Netsync provides network, IT, and AV solutions to government and commercial entities. As a proficient communicator, the Technical Editor I review and edits all technical project documentation for clarity, consistency, and quality before it is sent to the client.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Edit for nomenclature, grammar, consistency, punctuation, formatting, and pagination adhering to an in-house style on client-facing and internal technical documentation, including:
- Statements of work
- As built and design documentation
- Employee profiles
- Internal templates
- Marketing materials
- Procedure guides
- Proposal requests
- Security assessments
- Ad-hoc internal requests
- Utilize multiple dashboards and information sources to effectively navigate and monitor workflow and pipeline status.
- Communicate across the organization with document authors, proposal coordinators, and SMEs to ensure the utmost accuracy in documentation.
- Proactively collaborate with colleagues to solve both routine and unique challenges.
- Use advanced features of Word 2016 to edit for formatting and layout.
- Manage snippets and documentation repositories.
- Develop and maintain company documentation procedures and templates.
Skills and Experience:
- Possess expert-level English language communication skills, with a keen focus on grammar and writing proficiency.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing projects managing time efficiently, and communication across diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat software suites.
- Experience working in Microsoft SharePoint preferred.
- Exhibit the finest attention to detail and scope, with minimal direction.
- Working knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in documentation.
- Interest in working collaboratively with a global technical editing team and other colleagues to achieve shared goals.
Educational Requirements:
