As a Sales Development Representative, your primary responsibility will be to identify and generate new business opportunities by contacting and qualifying potential customers through outbound calls and inbound inquiries. You will schedule appointments and meetings for the account management team, ensuring diligent follow-up on leads. Additionally, you'll manage both B2C and B2B sales processes, collaborating closely with the sales team to develop effective strategies for meeting sales targets. Utilizing CRM software, you'll track and manage sales activities while staying informed about market trends to optimize sales strategies and support team success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify potential customers and generate new business opportunities for the company.
- Contact and qualify potential customers, make outbound calls to leads (75+ per day) and answer inbound sales calls.
- Set appointments, schedule meetings for the account management team, and follow up on leads.
- Generate, manage, qualify, convert, and close B2C opportunities, ensuring accurate qualification and conversion processes.
- Qualify B2B leads, schedule discovery meetings, and assign them to the correct sales representative, working with BD Executives to build B2B target lists.
- Collaborate with the sales team and account managers to develop strategies for reaching sales targets and ensure team success.
- Use customer relationship management (CRM) software to manage leads, sales activities, and maintain daily notes, contact details, and opportunity forecasts.
- Track progress towards meeting sales goals and contribute toward monthly sales targets.
- Stay up-to-date on market trends, competition, and industry developments to inform sales strategies.
- Provide regular and accurate reports on sales activities, results, and meeting notes to management.
- Provide support to account managers, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication within the team.
Requirements include:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
- At least two years of experience working within a sales department is required
- At least one year of experience in education technology sales is preferred
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas and receiving positive customer feedback
- Expertise using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and juggle several responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong written, verbal and online communication skills
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Expertise using a CRM
- Familiar with Sandler Sales System or alternative sales methodologies
