Summary
The Drug Diversion Analyst role at Protenus is a trusted, experienced, subject matter expert who actively supports customers on the Protenus Drug Diversion Surveillance platform through Professional Services. Professional Services includes both consultative and managed service offerings for customers. This position reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy, within the Customer Experience (CX) division. The role is responsible to guide a customer through complex workflows necessary to monitor and investigate cases generated by the Protenus platform, and to assist a customer with developing policies, procedures, templates and communication plans that enable customers to get the most value from the platform.
The Pharmacy Diversion Analyst is an extension of the customer’s team at Protenus, and assists the customer with investigation of cases. They are the direct customer contact managing case triage, case investigation, and executing case workflow steps, all resulting from a customer’s unique setup of the Protenus Drug Diversion Surveillance platform.This is a collaborative role that requires partnership with teams across Protenus as well as strong customer communication skills. Demonstrated experience with diversion prevention and/or monitoring in a healthcare delivery setting and detailed and working knowledge of DEA regulations is required. The Pharmacy Diversion Analyst position is not a clinical treatment role.
The position is a compliance related role focusing on assisting healthcare customers with developing and monitoring drug diversion programs.
Responsibilities
- Performs drug diversion case investigations as a managed service and proactively engages with customers to share any investigation findings and recommendations.
- Supports Diversion Professional Services customers align their drug diversion program with the Protenus Drug Diversion Surveillance platform through Consultative Start up Services.
- Collaborates with other Protenus team members on developing drug diversion related end-user content and product enhancements.
- Provides internal education and guidance to Protenus staff related to drug diversion processes, including working closely with sales, CX, and technical teams
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in pharmacy, nursing, and/or compliance in an inpatient hospital setting with a comprehensive understanding of medication handling and operations.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with healthcare professionals
- 3+ years experience of investigating drug diversion events in a hospital setting
- Intimate knowledge of federal regulations (DEA, FDA, etc,) and industry best practices related to controlled substance compliance and drug diversion.
- Ability to assess a drug diversion program and provide actionable recommendations in alignment with state & federal regulations, industry best practices, and customer policy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated experience working on a team and in a collaborative environment
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide concrete guidance and direction related to the evaluation of facts and data
- Experience giving presentations and leading training sessions, including the confidence and ability to independently guide others in learning new tasks and concepts
- Excellent time management and planning skills necessary to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Strong ability to self-direct and manage complex workloads and competing tasks
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related healthcare or compliance field of study, and certification in a clinical, research and/or scientific field of study is strongly preferred
