331 - Senior Cloud and Full Stack Developer with AWS and UI/UX Focus


Location: On-site in Columbia, MD (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) (This is not a 100% Remote position.)


We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Cloud and Full-Stack Developer with expertise in AWS and UI/UX to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the full life-cycle development of web and portal applications, with expertise in architecting high-traffic front-end applications in the cloud. A strong focus on AWS Cloud DevOps, server-side Java, and modern JavaScript frameworks, including React.js, is required. The candidate will collaborate with clients and business teams to define requirements, develop prototypes, and deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Architect and develop high-traffic frontend applications in the cloud.
  • Design, implement, and maintain web and portal applications using AWS technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for mobile, responsive, and 508-compliant applications.
  • Mentor junior developers and ensure the production of high-quality, reusable code.
  • Participate in PI Planning and Sprint Planning sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Develop reusable components for navigation, session handling, error handling, and report generation.
  • Integrate and manage AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, SES, SNS, and SQS.
  • Debug and resolve front-end issues using advanced debugging tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop prototypes, and deliver solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications, ensuring seamless integration with new features and technologies.

Requirements


  • Required Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with Java, J2EE, nodeJS, JavaScript, Angular, React.js, Bootstrap, LESS, and jQuery.
  • Strong experience with server-side development, including Servlets and JDBC technologies.
  • Significant IT experience with a focus on web and portal applications.
  • Proficient in using cloud computing technologies, particularly AWS.
  • Excellent front-end development skills, including the use of modern JavaScript frameworks and debugging tools.
  • Strong understanding of application servers such as IBM WebSphere, WebSphere Portal Server, and Apache Tomcat.
  • Proven ability to work with clients and business teams to define requirements and develop prototypes.
  • Experienced in managing teams and leading projects from inception to completion.
  • Required Technical Skills:
  • Operating Systems: Windows 7/8/10, UNIX, Redhat Linux.
  • Languages: Java 1.8, Python, NodeJS, JavaScript,TypeScript, SQL, PL/SQL
  • Java/Web Technologies: JSP, Servlets, J2EE, HTML, CSS, AJAX, LESS, Bootstrap, jQuery.
  • Web Frameworks: React 16 and above / Angular 11 and above
  • Cloud Computing: AWS (Lambda, Chime, Fargate, SNS, SQS, SES, EC2, CloudFormation).
  • Persistence Frameworks: Hibernate, IBATIS.
  • Application Servers: IBM Websphere, WebSphere Portal Server, JBoss, Apache Tomcat.
  • RDBMS: MS-SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL.
  • Version Control: GitLab,BitBucket
  • Quality Control: SonarQube Software Testing Tools: Selenium, Fiddler.
  • Documentation/Requirement Tools: MS-Visio, UML, Word.
  • CI-CD: Jenkins/Docker

Required Education:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 7 – 10 years of relevant experience or 11 - 15 years of relevant experience without a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Certifications:


  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Developer) preferred.
  • Certified SAFe DevOps Practitioner.

Preferred Experience:


  • Industry experience: Federal government and healthcare.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and working in CI/CD environments.

General:


  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in systems with complex requirements
  • Excellent teamwork and people skills with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
  • Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to navigate in an office setting unassisted
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds
  • Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear manner and excellent word enunciation skills, are required
