Our boutique consulting firm, Sandbox, is a unique associate-led, partner backed business practice with a track record and passion for helping venture-backed and venture-minded companies launch, grow and monetize their businesses. Our clients benefit from our team's versatile expertise and diverse experience to guide them through periods of transformation and growth.Our employees-- affectionately referred to as Sandboxers-- are a collection of repeat entrepreneurs, recovering corporates, reformed management consultants, and rogue college grads who believe in a creative approach to traditional consulting.

A little bit about the job!
As our client list grows, so does our need for talented, hard-working team members. We are a small, scrappy start-up company looking for a numbers-obsessed self-starter who has the chops to support our Finance and Accounting team. As a Senior Associate, we can assure you no workday will be the same. On any given day, week or month you will:
- Work directly with our Partners and Clients and bring your authentic self to all team interactions.
- Prepare financial models and forecasts concurrently for 10-12 startup venture clients.
- Develop and present reports or dashboards specific to a client’s needs.
- Perform valuation reviews and analyses of companies and competitors in their respective industries.
- Run weekly client check-in meetings, looping in company partners as needed.
- Create tools for clients that identify and improve company KPIs and operational inefficiencies.
- Assist with capital raises and investor relations.
- Prepare and review month-end close packages and financial statements.
- Oversee strategic bookkeeping for startups (tasks included but not limited to account reconciliation, setting up charts of accounts, invoices and purchase orders in accounting software, tracking vendor accounts payable/customer accounts receivable).
We are excited about you because…
- You are curious, confident, and hardworking, which are all necessary skills in the consulting industry.
- You have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business-related fields.
- You are proficient in the land of modern finance tech tools, including but not limited to: accounting systems (Quickbooks Online), reporting and analysis tools (Excel and Sheets), revenue and expenses software (Stripe, Ramp, Brex, Bill.com), and cap table management tools (Carta & Pulley).
- You have 2-4 years of public accounting or finance experience. Bonus points if you have your CPA)!
- You enjoy working with and leading people and the thought of running a client engagement fills your bucket.
- You have strong attention to detail and a passion for tech, systems, and data analysis that drive the automation and streamlining of processes
- You have the ability to explain the story behind the numbers and communicate information clearly and accurately to all levels of management. More bonus points if you geek out over financial modeling.
- You are comfortable working autonomously without extensive supervision and you are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help.
- You love learning on the fly and applying these “unmastered/unrefined/not perfect" skills as you move throughout the course of your responsibilities.
