Cesium is looking for a Backend Developer specializing in back-end web development. You will help build the Cesium platform by designing and implementing web services, infrastructure, and more.
Cesium powers thousands of 3D geospatial and metaverse applications worldwide and handles over 50 million daily requests. We’re looking for an experienced developer to help us scale to the next 50 million and beyond.
What you’ll do
- Build and ship software. Expect to code every day for most of the day.
- Be involved in every facet of Cesium platform engineering: from design to implementation, documentation, testing, and maintenance. From REST APIs, to database schemas, AWS infrastructure, and CI/CD.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the team, whether in person, on Slack, or on GitHub. Cesium places a strong emphasis on teamwork, continuous learning, and peer review.
What we’re looking for
- 4 years or more of relevant industry experience
- Strong modern Node.js development skills
- Strong understanding of REST API design and implementation
- Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with AWS services such as Elastic Beanstalk, Batch, CloudFront, S3, and lambda@edge.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container-based development in a Linux environment
- Bonus: Experience with big data, or geospatial data and services
