While much of our work is done asynchronously, our marketing department depends on synchronous calls for operational success.

Therefore, it's crucial for this role to be available for standups, marketing retros, and other team-specific discussions. You'll need to work hours with at least a

6-hour overlap with the GMT/BST


time zone, as our marketing team follows UK hours. We communicate primarily through Slack and occasionally meet up to collaborate and celebrate achievements. See if this is the right place for you.

🔎 Why We’re Hiring


At Resource Guru, we're entering an exciting growth phase and need a talented Content Writer to elevate our content strategy. This role is crucial as we ramp up our marketing efforts and work toward our strategic objectives, which rely heavily on high-quality content output and growing traffic. You'll report directly to our Marketing Lead, Stuart, and collaborate closely with Jo, our Senior Content Marketer, and Kat, our Senior SEO Manager, to tackle our growing backlog of new and optimized content.With your help, we aim to increase our monthly content production, enhancing our brand awareness and engagement.

Your role will be pivotal in driving our content strategy forward and supporting our long-term growth. 📈

✍️ What You’ll Be Doing


Primary/immediate responsibilities


  • Work closely with our Senior Content Marketer, Senior SEO Manager, and Marketing Lead
  • Produce long-form content for our blog (both SEO and non-SEO)
  • Source and interview subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • General content and competitor research
  • Work on other content optimization/refresh projects, such as internal linking, metadata, and content design
  • Upload, edit, and publish content via our CMS (Wordpress)

Additional responsibilities 


  • Content writing for additional campaigns/projects and channels which could include but not limited to:
  • Paid landing pages and ad copy 
  • Other website content (such as industry pages, feature pages, FAQs)
  • Email copy
  • Social media copy
  • Creating content that’s not written copy, such as:
  • Templates
  • Graphics
  • Tools (e.g. calculators)
  • Gifs
  • Videos

🎯 What We’re Looking For


💻 3-5 years of experience as a professional writer, with a minimum of 2+ years as a Content Writer within a B2B SaaS Marketing team💡 Someone with solid SEO experience who can create optimized content, and is able to balance inclusion of multiple keywords with engaging and user-centric writing✍️ A skilled writer who has the ability to effortlessly adopt a brand tone of voice (and American English)🪄 A versatile writer who’s equally comfortable with long-form and short-form content🎤 Someone happy to source and interview subject matter experts (and build direct relationships) to get those oh-so-important firsthand insights to enrich our content and cut through the noise💎 Able to turn complicated topics into engaging, clear, helpful, and easily digestible content🧠 Someone who can understand how to get into the mind of our target audience and provide useful insights that resonate with their pain points 🚀 Someone flexible who can turn complex briefs into words, work with thorough feedback loops, and can hit the ground running (we've got big plans!)👁️ Someone who is a stickler for detail, loves high quality content, and is able to self-edit and catch any sneaky typos💪 Someone who has a bias for action, is both autonomous and collaborative, can manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment 🦾 Someone who knows how to use AI (such as ChatGPT) to their advantage📈 Someone who is interested and invested in the performance of the content they’re creating 🌍 Someone comfortable working in a fully remote environment, adept at asynchronous communication, and flexible in adapting to new tools and processes.

You're a pro at keeping the conversation clear, concise, and on-track, even when we're not all online at the same time.

✅ Our Interview Process


  • Meet with Meredith, Talent/People Ops - 25-30 min video call. Meredith will be able to tell you a bit more about what it’s like to be on Team Guru. Please come prepared with any questions about our ways of working, team structure, and details about role expectations.
  • Meet with Jo and Kat, our Content/SEO team - 25-30 min interview video call. Kat and Jo will be keen to learn more about your past experiences in general, your SEO and copywriting skills, and be there to answer any role-related questions you might have.
  • Paid home assignment (2-part task) -Short writing sample with one round of feedback + an editing task
  • Second meeting with our Marketing team (Stuart, Kat & Jo) - 45 min interview video call. This time we’ll talk through your tasks, as well as questions about work style and alignment with our team values You’ll also have another chance to ask any general questions related to Resource Guru.
