General Duties:
Join our team of talented engineers in the Aberdeen area supporting critical defense programs. Support the analysis, design, development, integration, verification, and validation of advanced mission systems. The primary responsibility will be the governance of software APIs across subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and program stakeholders. Secondary responsibilities include the implementation of API enhancements with a team of engineers using modern programming languages. Both responsibilities (API governance and implementation) will require familiarity data models and modern REST API design.

Required Experience:
- 8+ years of experience with information systems, preferably on DoD programs
- This role will assist program leadership in defining and enforcing REST API specifications on vendor software deliveries
- Experience and familiarity with Army intelligence systems and the battlefield equipment that must be stored in related databases.
- Experience reading OpenAPI specifications and using HTTP tools (e.g., Postman, Curl) to interact with REST implementations.
- Excellent communication skills, with a high comfort level in reporting status to government customers and also enforcing government guidelines on vendors.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with industry standard commodity hardware for information systems (servers, storage, network devices)
- Familiarity with industry standard software products for information systems (e.g., operating systems and databases)
- Experience with Agile (Scrum) development processes and tools, including Confluence and Jira.
- Familiarity with basic AWS Services such as EC2, S3, IAM, RDS and CloudWatch
Education/Experience Level:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or engineering discipline
- Certifications Required: None, but AWS certifications are highly desirable
