**This is an onsite role. Must be within a commutable distance to the Philadelphia office.
The Technology team is seeking an Engineering Associate to work closely with all members of the Technology team and the business to achieve firmwide technical goals to drive value and efficiency for the firm. The Engineering team serves a critical role in the company with stakeholders covering Sales, Operations, Marketing and Research. The Engineering team provides technical leadership across the firm with a primary goal of driving value and efficiency through cleansing of data, automation of processes and delivery of enhancements to business applications.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Become an internal subject matter expert for the engineering team on various areas of the business and the data necessary to improve that area’s ability to make business critical decisions.
- Develop high quality solutions to enhance extensibility, scalability and efficiency within configuration driven data platform.
- Update stakeholders on project progress and project risks.
- Dig into system events to track, investigate, and resolve defects as required.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience as a data or software engineer.
- Proficient in SQL, R, Scala or Python languages.
- Comfortable with fast-moving work environment with quick iterations.
- Excellence in time management and delivering works in a tight deadline.
- Systematic thinking with capability of considering edge cases and boundary conditions.
- Motivated by the opportunity to research new tools, techniques and approaches.
- Able to dig into all the systems to track and investigate the bug when things break.
- Hands-on experience in relational databases and complex query authoring.
- Knowledge of AWS products (e.g. S3, EC2, Lambda).
- Knowledge of Snowflake, dbt or other cloud tools.
- Must be able to work out of our office located in the Navy Yard in Philadelphia.
