The Software Engineer in Test will join our core development team as we create the next generation of AlertMedia products and services. This role is critical to our success and includes developing, implementing, and documenting all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, test automation, defect tracking and reporting, and release management.
You will be a thought leader amongst the QA team, mentoring and sharing best practices and feedback. Who you are:
You are someone who is passionate about ensuring quality within a software organization. You enjoy dissecting applications to understand how they were designed and the benefits they provide to the end user. You are someone with an eye for detail and a focus on the aspects of the product which are most important to the customer. You enjoy using scripting and automation to create efficient testing processes. You thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment working cross-functionally with other Engineers and Product Managers.

What you get to do every day:
- Become an expert in the AlertMedia platform and tools, and its uses for our customers
- Automate tests to prevent software regressions
- Perform manual testing for business and functional requirements on web/mobile platforms to find issues before release
- Document software defects using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
- Monitor bug resolution and track successes
- Perform exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness
- Work closely with talented engineering & customer success teams to help troubleshoot as well as determine tests with the best coverage foruse cases and customer trouble spots
- Contribute to AlertMedia’s culture, values and vision for the future
What you bring to the role:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a QA / Testing role, preferably as a thought-leader or mentor on a team
- B.A. or B.S. degree desired
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Gherkin, etc.)
- Browser/UI automation written in Python or JavaScript
- Mobile automation with Xcode or Android Studio experience a plus
- Experience with CI/CD (git, pipelines, Jenkins, etc.)
- The ability to work with large datasets in SQL or NoSQL databases
- Understanding of REST and how to thoroughly test APIs for functional or performance issues
- Tons of energy, humor, compassion, and enthusiasm
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced challenging environment
- English proficiencyrequired
