As a UX Writer, you will be essential in developing clear, accessible content that enhances user interactions with government digital platforms. This role is suited for a professional skilled in interpreting and translating complex, policy-heavy information into user-friendly digital content.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-quality research and interviews.
  • Edit and proofread copy, original content, and digital experiences as needed.
  • Craft and refine web content using plain language to ensure clarity and accessibility for all users.
  • Develop content strategies that focus on user needs rather than promotional content, aligning with government digital services standards.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and policy experts to map out and audit content, ensuring consistency and compliance with style guides.
  • Engage in rigorous content editing and testing to meet the high standards of government digital communication.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder interactions, gathering and integrating substantial feedback into content development.
  • Participate in agile project teams, using Kanban boards to track progress and deliverables effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Public Administration, or a related field that emphasizes strong writing skills.
  • Proven experience as a UX Writer or in a related role.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong background in writing and editing content within the scope of government digital services, policy interpretation, and public information.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using plain language guidelines to make complex information accessible and engaging.
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder engagement, with the ability to manage feedback constructively.
  • Experience with content audits, usability testing, and adherence to digital content standards.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Creativity.
  • Collaborative spirit.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship, Green Card, or EAD required.
  • Must be able to meet any other requirements for government contracts for which they are hired (e.g., must reside in the U.S.)
