Job Summary:


We are looking for an experienced Director of Learning and New Program Development to develop new courses, eLearning, workshops, tool kits, and other learning materials.  In addition, they will be updating and maintaining our library of existing instructor-led courses applying instructional design techniques leveraging adult learning best practices, as well as innovative ideas to the projects on which they are working.  The projects will involve a variety of modalities including web-based, instructor-led, video and blended solutions.

This position is responsible for the design and development of learning solutions that leverage the tools available to create engaging and innovative learning experiences. In addition, they will facilitate both in-person and virtual workshops. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop new programs including instructional design, participant guides, facilitator guides, and tool kits
  • Update existing courses by editing, and optimizing materials, including participant guides, facilitator guides, and tool kits 
  • Conduct secondary research to inform course development and to update outdated references in courses
  • Identify gaps in what is currently being offered and what the market is demanding
  • Create eLearning from existing materials
  • Optimize course materials for different modalities 
  • Proofread and edit learning materials and other collateral
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions for updated/new courses 
  • Facilitate open enrollment and/or corporate training

The Individual:


  • 15+ years experience in designing and developing workshops, webinars, and cohort-based learning interventions. 
  • Experience in designing blended leaning programs utilizing multiple modalities: instructor-led in person and virtual workshops, as well as self-directed web-based learning 
  • Ability to apply adult learning principles to a variety of learning modalities 
  • Strong writing skills
  • Proofreading and editing capabilities 
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat required; Captivate/Articulate preferred
  • Experience in Human Resource Development and Leadership Development 
  • Exceptional facilitation skills for both in-person and virtual delivery

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Training & Development, Education with focus on Adult Learning or related area of study
  • Master’s degree, preferred
  • 15+ years' experience in learning and development course design
  • 15+ years experience in facilitating in person and virtual workshops
