IT Portfolio Senior Manager
Astor & Sanders (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider located in McLean, VA and is seeking an
IT Portfolio Senior Manager.
This is a full-time and remote position with occasional meetings in Ashburn, VA.
- Drive a culture of transparency and accountability to enable information-based decision-making in managing IT investments.
- Establish portfolio capabilities including data requirements, processes, roles, systems, and governance, and drive adoption across the organization.
- Develop capabilities for business value management, including business case development, investment cost and benefits measurement, benefits tracking, value showback, and cost/benefit optimization.
- Implement Technology Business Management (TBM) capabilities to support business value realization from IT investments across the enterprise portfolio.
- Expand the company's use of TBM tools to manage IT costs related to investments beyond infrastructure.
- Engage with external clients to understand and meet their IT service expectations.
- Lead the design, implementation, and adoption of investment portfolio management capabilities for business value realization, IT cost benchmarking, and TBM.
- Establish and manage Business Value Realization practices within the organization.
- Provide financial expertise for budget planning and cost reporting.
- Demonstrate leadership in managing small to medium-sized technical/infrastructure projects, including scope, schedule, resources, risks/issues, and cost.
- Foster collaboration among IT leaders and portfolio stakeholders for resource demand planning, change management, and project pipeline planning.
- Adhere to IT project delivery methodology.
- Commit to professional growth in agile project/program management and other relevant areas.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related field, with 5-7 years of experience in a comparable role within IT, utilizing financial or business intelligence data applications
- SCRUM or Agile certification
- Experience in technology business management.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Financial experience, including budgetary planning and cost reporting.
- Leadership experience, with knowledge of tools and techniques to gain cooperation and support.
- Ability to manage small to medium-sized technical/infrastructure projects.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth in agile project/program management.
- Familiarity with IT project delivery methodologies.
- Ability to provide business and financial advice to executives and directors.
- Previous experience in establishing and managing Business Value Realization practices.
- Understanding of core internal IT services and new technologies.
- Engagement experience with external clients.
