Sol Systems is seeking a Quality and Safety Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working within energy focused EPC companies, have a solid understanding of contractors, quality installs and project safety. This role will be involved in the creation and implementation of Owner quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of an Owner Quality Program, to be used as a guide by EPCs.
- Lead the development of an Owner Safety Program, to be used as a guide by EPCs.
- Support in the development of quality and safety standards for energy storage projects.
- Support review and approval of Contractor’s Health and Safety and Quality Assurance Plans.
- Coordinate internally and externally to perform Owner’s Quality and Safety inspections per the Quality and Safety Programs of projects under construction. This will require traveling to multiple sites approximately once a month.
- Develop and implement Owner quality control trackers to be used by full-time on-site Owner Construction Managers on a regular basis.
- Provide the project team with guidance and support as Quality and Safety questions arise during the construction phase.
- Support in the development of an internal Safety Plan for Sol personnel performing site visits and/or guiding teams for site tours.
- Support in the establishment of yearly Safety and Quality metrics.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, resourceful and capable of managing and supporting multiple projects in various phases of installation, commissioning, or operation. They are also extremely organized, process oriented, proficient in verbal and written communication, and are generally comfortable communicating with varying audiences and stakeholders.
A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or Applied Sciences
- 5+ years of experience in the solar construction and safety industry for utility-scale projects
- Knowledge of OSHA, local safety laws, and other regulatory agencies
- OSHA 30 Certification, at a minimum
- Ability to review and qualify technical documents for accuracy and completeness
- Resourceful and able to identify solutions and make recommendations to internal teams
- Comfortable and accustomed to engaging varying project stakeholders including EPC/contractor partners, Developers, and O&M partners
- NABCEP Certification is a plus
- Team oriented
Location & Hours:
This is a full-time role and will be based in our Washington, DC office.
