MCA Communications is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structured Cabling Estimator/Account Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional estimating skills, a talent for managing client accounts, and the ability to influence decision-making processes. This role requires a deep understanding of structured cabling and a proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate project engineering, material selection, and labor estimates.
- Develop detailed cost estimates and write comprehensive scopes of work in response to bid specifications.
- Utilize software tools to perform floor plan takeoffs and create project applications.
Client Management:
- Foster long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Attend site-walks, pre-bid meetings, and client consultations to gather detailed project requirements.
- Act as a liaison between sales, project management, and operations to ensure seamless project execution.
Sales Support:
- Support the sales team in developing design and engineering solutions for sales opportunities.
- Track site visits, document site conditions, and assist in developing tailored engineering solutions.
- Participate in job turnover meetings to ensure all project details and expectations are clearly communicated.
Vendor Coordination:
- Follow company guidelines for vendor and product selection.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best solutions, competitive pricing, and appropriate lead times for materials.
Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure all engineering work meets customer and company quality and safety standards.
- Stay updated on technical requirements through training and review sessions.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in structured cabling and low voltage systems.
- Strong knowledge of Audio Visual, access control, security camera, networking, and DAS systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, RFIs, specifications, schedules, and wiring diagrams.
- Proven ability to assess project needs, develop estimates and proposals, and negotiate project contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, Teams; experience with AutoCad, Revit, or other mapping software is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects/estimates.
- Ability to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.
