Job Description:
The Director of Content Strategy will have a passion for technology with defense applications, an understanding of the National Security domain, exceptional communication skills, and a proven record as a high-output, audience-building writer. This role owns and executes a thought leadership strategy, including a robust editorial calendar, topic curation, content creation, and public-facing engagement plan that measurably drives brand awareness and audience growth across owned and earned media channels.
They love to write and publish.This role will create compelling white papers, case studies, articles, and social media content, leveraging analytics and insights to capture audience attention and build a loyal following. The ideal candidate will be a content engine, adept at transforming data and insights into narratives that resonate with our defense and national security audiences. The day-to-day operations of our social media channels will also be owned by this role. The Director will also contribute to the company’s PR efforts, identifying compelling narratives that drive high-impact media placements and drafting talking points for executive speaking engagements.This role will work directly with the Chief Marketing Officer. This is a full-time position located in our office in Arlington, VA and may require up to 20% travel.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience driving measurable audience growth through high-output, insights-driven content creation
- Excellent storytelling and writing skills with a record of capturing audience attention across multiple channels
- Proven understanding of modern social media and publishing strategy and execution, as well as audience growth tactics
- Exceptional project management skills to own and execute an aggressive editorial calendar
- Proficiency with content creation, publishing, and measurement tools
- Understanding of the US National Security & Defense domain
Desired Skills:
- Current possession of a U.S. security clearance, or the ability to obtain one with our sponsorship
- Experience in or exposure to high growth or other entrepreneurial tech environment
- Experience managing PR agency relationships and media outreach
