JOB SUMMARY


We are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to join our team and lead our Robot Fleet and Data Management strategy, architecture, development, and deployment as part of our Humanoid product ecosystem. As the Engineering Manager at Apptronik, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in planning, implementing, and executing requirements around a new cloud-based SaaS platform for managing humanoid robots in customer environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to specify and implement this new system, integrating it with various technologies for navigation, work order management, charging, maintenance and fleet reliability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Drive the technical roadmap and strategy for the fleet management platform, aligning with business goals and customer needs.
  • Lead the seamless integration of the fleet management platform with customer’s WMS, WES, and MES to enable deployment in customer’s existing facilities.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Define testing, KPI’s, release processes, and review processes in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Define requirements, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery of features and enhancements in close partnership with systems engineering and product management.
  • Champion best practices in software development, ensuring high standards of code quality, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to design and implement scalable and resilient systems.
  • Manage resources, budget, and timelines effectively to meet project milestones and deliverables.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support career development for team members.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS


  • Solid understanding of automation equipment fleet management systems, IoT, and related technologies.
  • Experience in deploying and integrating cloud-based platforms with warehouse and manufacturing management systems.
  • Experience with web development and cloud technologies, and associated deployment and management tools.
  • Experience with scalable and secure data management and synchronization across locations.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and practices (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate team members.
  • Track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience in hiring, coaching, and developing engineering talent.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and microservice architectures preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in software engineering, with at least (5+ years) in a leadership or managerial role.
