Project Overview:
New America is seeking a skilled Website Redesign Project Manager to help oversee the redevelopment of our organization’s website, in alignment with New America’s Digital Director and Central Communications colleagues. This role requires collaboration with both internal team members and external vendors to ensure a seamless, efficient redesign process that aligns with our strategic goals. The ideal consultant will have a strong background in project management, excellent communication skills, and experience managing website projects. We estimate that this will require between 25 and 35 hours per week on average. The Website Redesign Project Manager (1099 Contractor) will work directly with the Digital Director.
Scope of Work:
- Project Planning and Oversight: Develop detailed project plans that outline key milestones, labor/resources, deliverables, and timelines. Monitor and manage project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure timely completion within budget.
- Team Coordination: Serve as a primary point of contact between internal stakeholders (including IT, marketing, program, and content teams) and external website redesign vendors. Facilitate meetings to ensure all parties are aligned and informed.
- Vendor Management: Support management of all aspects of the vendor relationship, including contract negotiation, compliance with project specifications, and quality assurance.
- Project Management: Utilize project management tools to track progress, facilitate collaboration, and manage stages of work efficiently. Ensure organized and effective use of these tools to keep all stakeholders informed and on track.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate and manage resources, ensuring that both internal and external team members have what they need (including labor hours, information, and deadlines) to meet project milestones.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent project delays and cost overruns.
- Quality Control: Oversee the quality of work delivered by both internal team members and external vendors, ensuring that the redesigned website meets all technical and design specifications.
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, providing updates and gathering feedback to integrate into the project.
Consultant Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a project manager, specifically with website redesign or digital transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of web development technologies, UX/UI principles, and current web design trends.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a part-time capacity while ensuring attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience in vendor management, including negotiating contracts and managing service level agreements.
Deliverables:
- Services to New America should be rendered on a first priority basis.
- Detailed project plan with key milestones and timelines
- Regular progress reports and updates to the Digital Director
- Final website redesign that meets all specified requirements and quality standards

Project Duration: August 2024 - July 2025
Compensation:
- Rate: Compensation for this contract role will be $45 - $55 per hour.
- This position is a contract, fixed-term role and is not subject to benefits.
