Project Manager, Food and Drug Administration (FDA)


Prometheus Federal Services (PFS), a trusted partner to federal health and social services agencies, has an opening for Project Manager with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Consulting experience. You will work closely with and support FDA agency clients in the planning and implementation of major strategic and organizational transformation initiatives. You will collaborate with client leadership to set expectations for deliverables, shape work product development, and ensure quality delivery from our analyst staff in addition to supporting performance management and continuous process improvement for our clients.

The ideal candidates will have expertise and experience working with or for FDA to implement high visibility and/or enterprise-level projects and initiatives. Experience working as a trusted advisor and/or leading similar projects and initiatives is also preferred. The selected candidate must be local to the DC metro area.This is not an IT role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and managing projects to conceptualize, design, and develop a wide range of solutions, to include: 

  • Organize, direct, and manage all aspects of contract operational support functions involving multiple complex and inter-related project tasks that often require managing teams of contractor personnel at multiple locations.
  • Provide overall direction of project activities.
  • Manage and maintain contractor interface with the senior levels of the customer’s organization.
  • Consult with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverables, ensuring conformance with project task schedules and costs and contractual obligations.
  • Establish and maintain technical and financial reports to show progress of projects to management and customers, organize and assign responsibilities to subordinates, and oversee the successful completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Develop client briefing documents, reports, and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Health Systems Administration, or other similar field
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in management consulting
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting FDA
  • Experience working across multiple dynamic organizations, driving all stakeholders toward a shared mission
  • Experience organizing a diverse team of senior leaders and clients while flexibly adjusting to managing shifting demands and ambiguity, reprioritization of objectives, and mitigating rapid change
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while interacting and managing a variety of stakeholders during critical periods
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint
  • Proven ability to identify and help resolve issues and risks and prevent escalation whenever possible
  • Proven ability to drive a team of diverse stakeholders ensuring that all requirements are fulfilled
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
  • Ability to obtain a public trust

Preferred Qualifications


  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
