Job Description
The Systems Administrator is responsible for making sure that Nearmap employees have the Infrastructure and ICT systems and support required to perform their duties. They are also responsible for aiding all Nearmap staff for their computer system requirements. This may be with hardware, Software, Mobile devices and systems. Reporting to the IT Manager they will maintain existing systems and implement new systems as required by the business as well as provide ongoing IT administration support to all Nearmap employees.
This role will be reporting to the IT Manager who is Based in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountability for availability and uptime of corporate systems (e.g. routers, switches, phones, firewalls, cloud components, workstations, laptops etc.)
- Manage internal applications (e.g. AD, Office 365, Jira, Confluence, Teams. Okta Workato) including access management.
- Maintain physical office infrastructure, including but not limited to setup of workstations and desk moves as directed by management.
- Adopt best security practices in line with NIST/SOC2 Cyber security framework (e.g. Surveillance, Data Loss Prevention, Intrusion Detection, Event Logging, Application Monitoring and Reporting, Mobile Policies, Firewall Policies, etc)
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of work instructions and internal procedures.
- Aid the senior members of the team where needed.
- Work With local Vendors to ensure equipment it to Nearmap Standards
- Work to automate everything we do!
- Responding to desktop support requests from employees face-to-face and remotely.
- Provide general support - 1st and 2nd level for IT systems.
- Use Nearmap standard IT tools to track work.
- Able to work with all levels of the Business from the C-Suite down.
- Provisioning equipment and software for new employees.
- Setting up equipment and accounts for new employees.
- Manage on-boarding/off-boarding of employees in line with Nearmap’s Global IT policy, procedures and conduct formal regular access reviews.
- Investigate new systems and solutions for Nearmap to consider.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships and manage the purchase and asset tracking of IT assets.
Qualifications
- 2+ years System Administration experience
- OS experience across - Linux, Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS
- Exposure to scripting languages – Bash, Powershell
- Office365, Active Directory (inc Group Policy and administration)
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure deployment and management - AWS
- Networking and firewall experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to communicate across all levels of the business
- Strong awareness of Data Security
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Ability to communicate across all levels of the business
- Ability to mentor Junior Staff members
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and multi task
- Ability to act and operate with guidance and direction
- Energetic, positive, highly self-motivated and directed
- Able to work in a team environment where during certain hours you would be able to work without Senior level support.
- Tertiary/Industry level qualifications
