Role Overview:
We are seeking a Physician specializing in Geriatrics or Cognitive Neurology to both see and assess patients with cognitive disorders as well as provide supervision and support to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in various states where our patients reside. Board certified physicians in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Practice or Neurology are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer direct patient-facing consultations as needed to address complex cases.
- Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across different states, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations and standards
- Provide guidance and support to APPs in conducting virtual patient consultations, performing comprehensive cognitive assessments, and managing complex medical conditions.
- Oversee the prescription of medications and the ordering of diagnostic tests by APPs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care and ensure cohesive treatment plans.
- Promote healthy aging and enhance the quality of life for older adults through telehealth services.
- Ensure APPs stay up to date with advancements in geriatric medicine, telemedicine, and healthcare technology.
- Maintain excellent communication with elderly patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues through virtual channels.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency program in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Neurology with a subsequent fellowship in Behavioral/cognitive Neurology or Geriatrics.
- Strong clinical experience in managing patients with memory/cognitive disorders. Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, or Neurology.
- Valid medical license to practice in state where supervision is required
- Proficiency in telemedicine platforms and technologies for conducting remote patient consultations.
- Strong clinical skills in geriatric and cognitive assessment, management of complex medical conditions, and medication management.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with elderly patients, families, and healthcare colleagues through virtual channels.
- Commitment to staying up to date with advancements in Memory/cognitive disorders and their care and management, telemedicine, and healthcare technology.
