PacketFabricSenior Accounting
THE ROLE:
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Assistant Controller and will be a critical contributor to day-to-day accounting, special projects, and the month-end close process, including accounting for fixed assets, capitalized software, COGs analysis and accruals, cash entries, bank reconciliations, intercompany entries and reconciliations, debt accounting, and other accruals. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, ownership of the role, ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Cash transaction research and entries
- Bank reconciliations including international accounts
- Intercompany activity research, entries, and reconciliations
- Participation in the monthly fixed asset meetings
- Work cross-functionally for fixed assets and internally developed software accounting
- Debt accounting and journal entries
- COGS activity review, analysis, and preparation of journal entries
- Preparation of month-end entries and reconciliations, including deferred revenue and channel partner commissions
- Manage the reconciliation log and monthly reconciliation process
- Assist with special projects during off-close periods
- Provide support during external audits and tax preparations
- Provide accounting and financial support to management as required
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with GL accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with the month-end close processes
- Experience supporting an external audit
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- High level of accountability and ability to work with limited oversight
- Willing to tackle challenges in a continuously changing environment
- Experience with NetSuite preferred but not required
- Start-up experience is a plus
- CPA license is a plus
