Fertigation/IPM Technician

We are hiring for a Fertigation/IPM Technician to monitor and determine course of action all irrigation and nutrient feeding for plants across our entire Delavan, IL Cultivation Plant, under supervision of Fertigation/IPM Manager. General duties include understanding and utilizing two different fertigation machines and be able to determine precise mixing and delivery of nutrients, monitoring fertigation system performance, and utilization of automated computer systems/meters for analytical analysis. The ideal candidate should have experience in plant health, is detail-oriented and can effectively manage their time. They should also possess or be willing to obtain IDOA pesticide licenses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness of tanks, fittings, lines, and related equipment, maintaining them in pristine working order
- Accurately mix and deliver nutrients or pesticides to all plants, properly documenting these events
- Prepare recipes, solutions, and equipment safely to provide appropriate fertilizer application rates for optimal crop development
- Calibrate and maintain pH and EC sensors on a routine maintenance schedule
- Clean reservoirs using a pressure washer to prevent microbial growth
- Monitor and log drip and drain data to ensure optimal crop growth
- Report any nutrient deficiencies, pests, pathogens, or plant health concerns to the Head Grower
- Prepare and submit daily reports of fertilizer applications
- Follow all safety and PPE guidelines according to OSHA, Illinois Department of Agriculture, and product label standards
- Monitor gauges, dials, fertigation software, and other indicators to ensure the fertigation machine is working properly
- Keep inventory and equipment records as needed and report to the supervisor.
- Administer correct handling, transporting, storage, and disposal procedures for chemicals
- Service and maintain fertilizer pumps and equipment for optimal operation and performance
- Follow Revolution SOPs and report any deviations to management
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Administer pesticides in accordance with IDOA standards and product specifications
- Accurately identify pests within cultivation through scouting
Physical Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including high humidity, fluctuating temperatures, and exposure to chemicals and air contaminants
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including ability to lift up to 50lbs, standing for extended periods, and working within confined spaces
- Strong knowledge and adherence to biosecurity measures/regulations to keep facility, products, and personal safe
- Adherence to strict safety guidelines for facility and person; Proper PPE while handling nutrients and pesticides, Tyvek Suits, respirators
- Ability to work with pesticides in accordance with product specifications and IODA requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s OR Associate’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or related field (OR equivalent work experience)
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in fertigation and/or Plant Care Environment, preferably in cannabis cultivation or similar agricultural setting
- General knowledge of plant nutrition, soil science, irrigation and pest management
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to problem solve effectively and identify solutions quickly on your feet
- Demonstrated ability to record data accurately
Certifications/Legal Qualifications:
- Ownership/Ability to obtain IDOA pesticide license
- At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Certification in IPM/related disciplines preferred but not required
